While we did not design or program the ANC's web site we programmed the entire back-end Database and CMS that is accessible through a secure online web interface. This allows ANC staff to interact, maintain and update their contact list of clients, vendors, contractors, employees and volunteers. They are able to add new records, preview and update current information and even send out dynamic e-mail messages based on selected names right from the browser. We designed a great time-saving tool for them that simplifies their work. Unfortunately, we can't always show you the real live example on the web. The pages we programmed for ANC are behind a secure area and are only accessible to their staff.

Features:

  • Web Site Reprogramming
  • Inegrated Popup Windows
  • Custom JavaScript Popups
  • Dynamic Searches and Queries
  • Secure Login
  • Database Application
  • On-line Forms
  • Automated Mass Mailings from Site
  • Technology Used:

  • ASP
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • HTML
  • SQL
  • SSI
  • VBScript
  • Some Challenges and Solutions:

    Challenge 1:
To program dynamic searches or queries so that the subsequent result pages include listings based on some or all selected criteria.

    Solution 1:
ANC needed seven major areas to monitor for their company and those were Contacts (Individuals), Organizations, Events, Reprints, Revenue, Work and Submission. Each area was a little different but they were all integrated in a database and web interface. For example, they maintain an ongoing list of contacts who could be volunteers, donors, potential clients, vendors etc. Each contact could be a recipient of a newsletter. When it's time to mail newsletters, ANC can do mass mailings based on the tool we programmed that allows them to produce a mailing list from a dynamic search. From the search results they can still control who does and does not get the e-mail. The searches can be based on the type of a contact such as donors only. Or, individuals could be selected based on their interests if the newsletter is intended just for a specific group of people. They can also search based on criteria such as the amount of money donated or based on dates. We programmed all this into the CMS system and made it very user friendly.
